Seattle
We’re in Seattle. Both of us. 14 en total. No internet at grandma’s. We’re at Top Pot. Life’s pretty good. Sister’s home. She’s dying. Not really. Updates like… Sunday or Monday.
Yesterday we worked in the field. It was very hot. We collected plates and apples, no leaves this time for some reason. Must be too much work.
Seems like the most recent plan is not to go to Seattle until tomorrow.
8 played Shadowbane w/ Pat and I. It was fun. You can even ask her.
Work yesterday
I thought I should jot down a note, mostly to myself, about work. Yesterday Veronica and I did the whole extraction process and Dr. Felsot didn’t actually do any of the work. Normally he helps out in the lab, but yesterday he was in his office the whole time except to check on us occasionally. We even went to lunch on our own. Didn’t really think of it at the time, otherwise I woulda put this in that other post.
So, in news not related to work, most of the Lewis’s are in town. Sandra, Danny, and Tyler to be specific. Danny and Tyler and Kait came and picked me up from work yesterday, which was cool. Aaron, Gar, and Kristi have been hanging out at my house quite a bit lately too… so it’s been pretty full. Donny even came over yesterday. And Pat didn’t I don’t think, so that’d different.
Kait’s still around, and having a pretty good time I think. She’s like level 20 or something in Oblivion. She thinks the Lewis’s are pretty entertaining. They do have pretty wacky antics, I’m used to them somewhat though.
I’m going to Seattle on Thursday. My sister flies in on Friday. There’s some going away thing for my football cousin on Thursday… that’s the reason for going that day instead of Friday. And then we aren’t coming home until late on Sunday I think… due to a baby shower that day for Andy’s (eldest Lewis boy) wife. That’s probably longer than I wanna stay in Seattle, but Kait wants to meet my grandma, and there are more activities than normal when I visit Seattle, so hopefully it will be ok.
I’m being paid right now. The dishwasher thing is taking forever. 😛
I’ll just keep typing then. D&D on the forum is going pretty well I think. It’s still slow as hell, but I kinda like it. I need to start taking notes on characters I make up, so I can evolve them and have them become recurring. I was thinking originally that since it’s on a forum I could just reference previous posts… but the forum is not set up well for that I don’t think. So sad. I think Gar might get added to the mix, and Kait. They’re both threatening anyway. My plan is to add anyone who wants forever, so people can quit and I’ll still have enough people to keep the world going. If I keep it up for a while it could get pretty epic.
work
Today at work I spent the first bit of time cleaning out the jars I filled with leaf holes last week. Over the weekend Dr. Felsot did the extracting apparently. Then we spent some time setting up 22 plate extractions… we’re doing the evaporation phase right now. Then we just have to disolve it in exact amounts of solvents and dilute it and GC it and we’re done.
Oh yeah, and I’m getting paid now. Cool huh? I estimate I’ll make $960 before the end of summer.
This guy’s a genius
hole punching
Today at work I punched 1 sq. cm holes in leaves… like 1000 leaves… probably more. That’s all.
Yesterday
Yesterday I had the day off, so I slept in and hung out with 8. I played a bit of ShadowBane too, it’s free now, so check it out. You need to use Netscape or IE to get an account cause Ubi is way behind the times browser wise apparently. OPP is back in it in a pretty big way, so it could be fun. Pat is going to play some it looks like too. Maybe I can even convince 8 that it’s not lame. She seems pretty skeptical though. I don’t think she’s much for PvP really. Or teamwork. 😛
I also did a bit of GRE studying… I think the math section is going to be cake. I looked at the geometry part, which is the only stuff I might have forgotten, and I think it’s simple enough that I won’t have troubles.
Today the work day hasn’t yet begun, despite the fact that I’ve been here since like 8:30. Dr. Felsot had to rescue intern Veronica from a flat tire. I didn’t know where the key was hidden, but now I do. Woulda been handy for the wait, but whatever. I think it’s going to be pretty busy the rest of the day. We spent all of Wednesday gathering tons of samples to do extractions on, so I think we’ll be doing that for weeks to come.
