T-shirt design idea

it says “I can take no responsibility for my appearance. Mission accomplished” or something like that. Maybe it’s not gold. /shrug

Anecdote:
yesterday 8 put two potatoes in the oven. The next day she took them out. Did you know that potatoes that have been held at a temperature of 400 degrees for 12 hours become lighter? They’re kinda cool actually. The skin is preserved but if you break them open you find a cold dark charred interior… like a soul.

Clearly I need sleep. I think 8 did a good job reformatting the blog. Looks nice. That picture of me was taken yesterday. 8 bought me that T-shirt and forced me to stand and pose, just for the record. Oh, and she’s not really a twin.

Today

Today was a day of little work for me. For the next three days my cs class is cancelled cause the profs are going to some conference. I have no homework due tomorrow, and I finished all my reading yesterday. I went to Portland to go to that neurology lecture. 8 decided to go. She got a migraine though, so I don’t think she enjoyed herself much.
We went to a Lebanese restaurant and ate well for free. Nobody can be upset by that, even if they do have a migraine. The lectures were pretty interesting I thought. Nothing earth shattering or anything to me though.
Otherwise all I did today was go to a couple classes and chill. Yay!
If you could have $20 now, or $100 dollars in 60 days, which would you pick?

I went to senate today. Senate is student government here at school. Every dorm and club sends a representative. I went for LRPC because our normal senator can’t go, and our proxy went to audition for MacBeth or something. šŸ˜›
I’ve been to senate before, two weeks ago, but this was pretty different. There was like 45 minutes of arguments and discussion to get like 3 things changed. I understand how dictatorships came about. šŸ˜€
Tomorrow I’m going to a neurology lecture in Portland w/ the psyche club. Free dinner, free lecture, free ride… it’s a good deal. I will be missing the LRPC game night, but I can’t always be there. Unfortunately my partner in leadership is coming to the neurology lecture as well. I say unfortunately from the perspective of the club being leaderless for an event. I am fortunate to have her company on the trip. šŸ˜‰
I am now obligated to end every paragraph with an emoticon. Isn’t that the law, three times in a row is pattern? XD
Damn. The site with all the IT crowd episodes is down. I guess all my devoted readers must have flooded it. I hate you! :*(

I’ll leave you now, I’ve got work to do. The LRPC got officially approved to buy $255 worth of new books and games. “_”

I got an 80% on the test, so says the internet. Better than the average. I dunno if he’s curved or anything, and I dunno that I can’t get some more points once I’ve actually seen what’s been marked wrong.

For the record, I did not lose 8’s character sheet.

Played D&D today. Wasn’t long enough and not enough happened. šŸ™ We need to play the evil campaign more too.

Have some London.

Free Day

So I went on my own to that Sir John Soan Museum. I paid a pound. I’m so nice.

The house was pretty sweet. All the mirrors and color skylights were very original and uh… interesting. Takes some architectural skill to make it all seem useful.

The guy had a lot of stuff. I liked the sarcophagus of Seti I and it’s placement. He also had this cool statue of Hercules fighting Cerberus. I can’t spell anything. I’m writing standing up on the tube at the moment so pardon the handwriting. I also noticed Soan had quite a few stone flower carvings. Had them up all over the place.

The Hoggart paintings were very entertaining. I wanna see the Harlot series they mentioned. Says that the paintings were criticized as being vulgar. I think it’s good that Soan saw the satire. It’s curious, however, that I only saw one intact penis on all his statues. Maybe he had limits, or maybe that wasn’t his doing. He got one of the Hoggart series from the Garricks. So maybe he knew Johnson. Didn’t see Johnson’s Dictionary anywhere though. There were a lot of books, though. I didn’t look at them all. He did have at least three sets of dictionaries.

I saw a drawing/painting that possibly not everyone else saw. It was behind the main paintings in the room upstairs. It was of one of his designs for a palace. It would have been a pretty sweet palace. Had cool statues all over it. I think it would have been pricy.

The train is stopped for some unknown amount of time. I should investigate how to get somewhere interesting.

Went to the Natural History Museum. It’s quite the impressive building. Monkeys climbing the walls and large cats for gargoyles and the like. I liked the building more than any of the exhibits.

The collections were quite inclusive, though. Especially the mineral one. They had a lot of rocks. There was nothing wrong with the exhibits, really, they were just too elementary for me.

I was quite impressed by the crowds. Good to see people interested and such. The museum has about 4 cafes and at least 3 gift shops though. Guess they have to pay for it, but it kinda detracts from the academic atmosphere.

One of the ancient ancestors of the elephant looked really pathetic. About two feet off the ground at it’s dorsal point, it’s ventral side barely raised. It’s ā€œtrunkā€ was just a nub. It was round like a worm, but w/ legs. Plus the flabby gray skin didn’t help… or the modern elephant as comparison.

Marry Poppins was really good. Probably best sets I’ve ever seen. Plus a 25 person cast is pretty unusual. Theater building was pretty ornate. Front row yo.

I’m surprised how little I’ve been rained on.

Museum was big. Was there for 3 hours but only covered about 1/8 of it. Found a kinda cool tour of the enlightenment room by chance.

I think that room would be really confusing for a future archeologist to find.

Saw the Rosetta Stone. Some other 3,500 year old things. Ya know, the usual.

Ate a cheeseburger from Munchkin. It was cheap. And good. Had peppers in it.

Ate dinner at a pub round the corner from the hotel. It was cheap and good. Nice place. I dunno if they have placed like that in the states. Probably.

Oh, museums. Need more time. Need more knowledge. Someday I’ll have to read a history book… someday. Then I’d learn/remember more at the museums, I suppose. Too bad Kait isn’t a history major anymore.

I dunno what to write about. I’m sure I’ve got many a brilliant thing to write, but I can’t think of any.
