I’ll start with poker. I’ve been on a losing streak. I’ll explain in more detail. I had gone from $52 to $33 playing only $1 45 man sit&go’s. Basically, that’s 14 tournaments with no money being won at all. Very bad for me, very much crazy unlucky stuff happening. So, I did a stupid thing. I decided I’d play a $5 9 man sit&go. I got second and won a net of about $8. I did it again. I did it again. So now I have more money than ever before, and I did it in about 4 hours where as it took me about 28 hours to lose that money. I dunno, if I keep up at this rate I’m making minimum wage. Heh. So that’s swell.

I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts today and as such have been staring at my list of podcasts I’m subscribed to you. I’d like to re-list them for you all, cause I am a weirdo. I’m going to not link them this time, cause that’s time consuming, but if you want to find them, I’m sure you’re capable. You can see the ratio of geek, to not geek. For convenience, I’ll do the not geek first, and the geek second. You can try and figure out the switch, and disagree if you want.

1. 5Questions – 5 questions are posted online every week and answered by listeners. The answers are played or read on the next show. Questions vary widely and so do the shows. I get played on this one, so especially cool because of that.
2. comedy4cast – a 4 minute comedy skit every day, give or take
3. Quick Hitts – Show that’s mostly political rants and social commentary, actually all political rants and social commentary, of a random guy who tech know how. I happen to agree with a lot of what he says, and sometimes he’s funny.
4. Berkely Groks Science Show – A radio news show dealing with science. One host has a bizarre laugh. On real radio apparently.
5. Diggnation – Weekly reviews of the top stories from digg.com all dealing with science and technology. The hosts are semi-drunken to liven it up.
6. Dragon Page Wingin’ It! – A ad lib show done by the people at Dragon Page, who are total geeks.
7. Slice of Scifi – Done by those Dragon Page guys, it talks about the latest news in sci fi tv and movies. Also has interviews and interesting guest segments.
8. Quirks and Quarks – Science news, real radio.
9. Science Friday – Science news, real radio.
10. Security Now! – A show dedicated to helping people with tech security issues.
11. Skepticality – Show that features skeptical guests, debunks myths and other such stuff, and provides news not available in the large media venues.
12. Slacker Astronomy – Astromony news and witty banter.
13. Slacker Astronomy Bonus Features – More witty banter and astronomy news.
14. The InfidelGuy Show – An atheist who likes to talk about religion. Features guest and call ins and sometimes debates dealing with current issues. Lately intelligent design in schools, 10 commandments at courthouses, and abortion.
15. The Signal – A show dedicated entirely to Firefly and Serenity.
16. This Week in Tech – Tech news and banter between a group of really teched out people. Sometimes some questions are answered.

So there you have it. That’s what I’ve been doing a lot of my spare time. Clearly I am cool. I encourage you all to listen to that stuff, and if you’d like to help narrowing down the pool to the best juicy center, I’d be glad to offer advice.

Dad is buying me a pretty bad ass computer. Desktop. It’s bad ass in the processing way, ugly in the other stuff. Which is fine, cause we’re not rich, but I’m still a computer addict. Yay! and such. So everyone can thank my dad and think he’s cool.

How do they get in here?

I ate spaghetti. It was good.

I’m on the 5questions podcast again. I’m practically first. When I laugh it just sounds like I’m blowing into the mic. /cringe I dun think I’m ever going to figure out these microphone things.

Today I’ve just been laying around and such. Working on typing up a book for 8’s grandpa’s friend.

Pat is leaving tomorrow. :*( Apparently his sister was in the bank when it was robbed. She thought she was going to die, but unfortunately, she didn’t. Didn’t even get permanently deformed and disabled. Pretty exciting though.

I just finished winning at Zombies. There were some strange circumstances, but that’s ok. I never win. Those of you who don’t know what Zombies is are crazy, and should google it. I think I linked it on the blog long ago, so I’m not doing it again.

Also, does anyone know if Alan Poon is a that Converse guy’s real name?

I’m trying to be interesting while 8’s gone. It’s not the same is it.

Some of my belches should really be recorded for posterity.

I think I’m going bald. My hair keeps showing up all over the bed and such. Almost done w/ The Da Vinci Code. Martha’s still gone. No interuptions. 🙂 Get Skype.

I can’t think of any other clever lyrics equating my sister to a witch so I’ll just tell you that she’s gone. She recently departed to catch a plane that will ultimately take her to Wooster, Ohio where she will be attending college. The main thing is she’s gone though. 😛

Also, I won $100 of gas that I was entered into for giving blood yesterday. Aren’t I awesome?

Podiobooks – Serialized audio books in podcast form

I gave blood. I had an appointment for 3:15. I got home at 5:15. It took me 5 minutes and 25 seconds to pump out a pint. The nurse missed my vein and had to have a supervisor nurse fix it. Then she failed to pull the needle out when I was done on her first try. Her grip apparently slipped or something. Whatever. They were just really off their game. I’ve never had a vein missed before. They’re big and plentiful. I’m tough though, the pain was worth it. I saved a little girl with her two front teeth missing. Who’d you save today?
