Iraq

I’m not one to rant about the war being pointless, cause I suspect it was entirely, and everyone else rants similarly, but I was listening to NPR and I heard that nose jobs in Iraq have increased 300% since the war started. I’d like to say, “Mission accomplished!”

Google

So here’s the deal. Google recently sponsored MIT’s project to make a cheap laptop designed for use in developing countries. It has a hand crank, and is mud proof, etc. Costs $100. Really cool yeah? Why would Google do that though? Theory by some, they’re going to make money off of it. How? They’re going to make free global Google wireless internet, sponsored by advertisements, with satellites. They’re already doing this locally in San Fran and New York. This is the only thing that makes sense. Internet in Brazil for example, costs about half of the average monthly income. The people that buy these laptops that Google helped make, are not even going to know what Google is, unless they offer this.

Coo? Or not coo?

yeah yeah

So I haven’t updated much lately. Get over it. 8 is doing a pretty good job covering me I think. I’ll give a detailed review of the last couple days though, because I need to kill some time.

Yesterday I got done w/ class at 10 and had no other duties for the rest of the day. Normally I have research, but one of the guys I do research with was gone for break already, so didn’t have that. So I chilled out and watched some Star Gate. I got back in touch with 8 around 3:30 (later than I’d hoped, she was hanging out w/ Deeksha though so didn’t get online and let me know she was back. :P) and we cleaned up a little and such. I napped.

We (8, and I, and Deeksha, and we found Keston and Dawn there) went to see A Corpse With Feet at 8. Actually, we left at like 7:15 because for some reason they wanted us there half an hour early. It was a forty minute play that was partly in Japanese. There were mirror images of the two characters, that eventually all interacted with one another. Kinda confusing, but pretty funny.

After the play 8 and Deeksha went off to get made up for their gay clubing and I went to my apartment and watched more Star Gate. I ate some Top Raman and some Gobbstoppers. 8 didn’t get back until about 4:15 am. I stopped watching Star Gate at 3 to let Keston sleep. Keston and John had been playing D&D (a campaign John’s been DMing) the whole night. 😛 I’m not in it. 🙁 Between 3 and 4:15 I read about physiology. Good stuff.

Today (technically yesterday) there was a little LRPC get together at 2. A lot of the campus is gone for break, so I didn’t expect anything really to get done, it was just an excuse to get together an play. That’s what we did. We made characters for a new Eberron campaign DM’d by Dimitri. We played until we got hungry, and then we had a food break. Dim, Keston, 8 and I had steak and some other stuff. Then we played again until about midnight. We’re lvl 2. 🙂 I’m a wizard. I have 7 HP now.

8’s grandparents are coming tomorrow I guess. They’re bringing her a couch. 8’s writing her novel. I’m sleepy.

News from Norway… and Sweden

So the Nords are at it again with the crazy antics. We’ll start with the royalty. Not all that scandalous for a princess I know, but kinda interesting none the less. Then there are the child molesters. The Nords are different than us. “This is a very tragic case. The man should have received help a very long time ago,” Eian said. The American’s would be like, “It is tragic that such a sick, disgusting monster is allowed to live more than an hour after committing such a sin. What is this God fearing nation coming to?” And then Sweden. Hehe.

This girl in vert. phys. lab cut off the hand of a frog when she was decapitating it. Hehe. We took out their sciatic nerves again for the experiments, but then we had some spare time so we isolated the gall bladder, heart (still beating), intestines and stomach, and lungs. All the official experiments went well.

I’m working on getting an internship or something.

I did homework. I did a bunch of physics that she hasn’t even talked about yet. I think I did it right. I’m pretty much doing it with my brain. By that I mean I’m deciding what makes sense based off of memory of observations of reality, but who knows how accurate that is. The stuff is due day after tomorrow though, so I doubt she was going to explain everything before we were expected to do it anyway. 😛 I’ll make alterations if necessary.

I think I’m going to get a 92% on my comp sci test. That is if he gives me back all the points I suggest. 😛 91.7% if you want to get technical.

8 is still sick.

The Japanese students on campus seem to be more active than previous semesters. I mean physically, they seem to run around and giggle a lot more than the ones before.

bye bye

stuff

Yeah, so I finished a program that can actually do math I can’t do in my head. It’s awesome.

I only got an 81% on my physics test. I didn’t read a problem right, and then I lost 10% for doing things in my head. Curse my intellect, it’s always held me back academically. It’s a high B, not a B minus like looks like by her grading though, so it’s ok. Keston got pwned w/ his knowledge of physics, otherwise he woulda gotten 100. He lost 5 points for factoring in gravity, you know, cause it exists. Whatever. Haven’t gotten my other tests back.

I wrote a letter to grandma.

I went to this internship/volunteer fair today. Man, it sucked. Apparently only people w/ people skills or business majors are useful in the world. 😛 I got an application for Fred Meyers just for fun. I could work in the food/health department.

I gots new glasses. They’re all snazzy with the tinting when I got out in the sun (heaven forbid). I think people have been confused, or interested by seeing them when they’ve actually been tinted, although I suppose I would be too since I can’t think of when I’ve actually met anyone who has them. They’re working fine, as far as I can tell. 😛

Fall break is coming up. That means I get a 4 day weekend. That’s cool. We’re hopefully going to have some LRPC events and such, but planning has pretty much fallen, dropped, slowed, something, to a halt, since 8 is really busy, and I’m pretty busy. It is lame. We’ll figure something out.

One of the girls that lives in the little house thing that 8 lives in is pregnant.

My nation was the world standard in political freedoms for a day. That’s kinda exciting. I guess I should stop trying to come up with interesting things that have happened and go do something productive.

But I am le tired.

To physics! Away! I decided earlier today that I’m going to start acting more like a super hero.
