work

Today at work I sat out in a field for like an hour (more actually) writing down numbers every 5 minutes. AWESOME! I did other stuff too… like get sprayed w/ pesticides that smell like beef jerky, and pick up apples and plates.

8’s here. It’s good.

The sight isn’t really worth the trouble, at least not for someone like me, but this is a pretty funny pause point I thought. I can’t think of any funny pop-up text. Seriously. That’s a first. I must be tired.

Hey baby,

I’m writing to you from work… because I can. I just got a computer in my office, I’m such a working guy, except for the money and all. The boss went and took a phone call for like an hour without giving me anything to do, so now that it’s lunch break I’ve already figured out the computer pretty well. It’s a Mac, I can’t use Firefox and my mouse only has one button… it’s like bizarro world.

I downloaded the Mac version of Trillion… it’s called Prisario or something like that. It works I think. I can’t get Google spreadsheet to operate, and I can’t watch my Comedy Central movies cause I don’t have Windows Media Viewer or whatever. That’s ok though, I normally won’t have as much computer time as I did today.

Veronica, the intern girl that was here when I got here, went to Wapato High School. Wapato High School science program blows apparently. She doesn’t know what pH is, or how to do anything w/ the metric system. I’m pretty sure it’s not her fault, she picks things up quick here… /shakes head. I suppose it’s probably partly her fault, everyone forgets stuff, and she doesn’t have total mastery over English. College is going to be kinda rough for her though. Sux0r.

I get to see you tomorrow if all goes according to plan. That’s very exciting. You know what’s happening tomorrow as well? Premier of Eureka, the Sci-Fi show about a town filled with scientific geniuses. Wanna watch it? /shrug An idea. We could just wait for it to have a season finished and me to download and then there’d be no commercials and such. Whatever.

I babble. I have to get back to work in 8 minutes. I guess I’d better wash my hands and such too.

lusm

P.S. It’s possible that when you get to Kennewick tomorrow Dad and I will both be at work, so you can just chill in the house and make yourself comfortable, or you can stay with Pat and his family until one of use returns. I dunno what time you’re getting back though, might not have to worry about it at all. Tomorrow we’re going out to the field… which is in Prosser, so it’s difficult to say when I’ll be home and what not, otherwise I’d give you some times. Good Luck. <3

Hello love,

Another day without a letter. I waited to give your letters a chance to arrive in vain. /cry I will survive.

Today’s big event was that I rode my bike to Dr. Felsot’s house from my house. I found a way on Google Maps that utilized a little path next to a drainage ditch to avoid some of the traffic and such. It didn’t avoid the fact that Dr. Felsot’s house is on a big hill though. Mom came with me most of the way but went back so she could do pick up. As it turned out though she didn’t need to really because when I got to Felsot’s they spotted me and after giving me the grand tour (they have a giant house) offered to take me home and did so. The path was pretty off road at some points, and I almost passed out. I blame the fact that I hadn’t eaten much in days prior, or anything up to the ride that day.

Yesterday I didn’t really do much. I wound up at the mall around dinner time (7:15 PM) because mom and I were scoping out bike routes towards Dr. Felsot’s house and he kinda lives mall area ish. Aaron and Donny were both at JC Penny’s doing it right when I checked, so that was cool. Aaron wants to take you to “Queen’s Night” at some gay bar in town. Pretty much all the guys that work in the salons (right next to where Aaron and Donny work, and Cain only the Macy’s version). Apparently they do it every Wednesday and he went last week and found it entertaining. So that’s something to think about… I guess.

Can’t wait to see ya. Soon soon. lusm

Dear 8,

I missed your correspondence today, but I’m sure it is just lost in the mail.

There is some somewhat interesting news to report today. At work I accompanied my boss man to a lecture he gave at Batelle. We had to do the whole security check thing, and one intern (the one I don’t work with) didn’t get in because she had no photo ID. With our fancy badges that self destruct after 24 hours (not kidding, the ink disappears) we went across the street and into a building that a nice man with a gun opened with a magnetic magic chip card thing. Then we went and sat in a room that didn’t even have a projector in it. They had to bring one. Anyway, the boss man talked for an hour about Differentiating Hazard and Risk and Waste Management and it was pretty well received I think. Couple questions afterwards, some jokes, lot of people talked to him afterward, lot percentage wise. There were only like 15 or so people there. I think that’s about the expected turn out though. Just the Waste Disposal department cared at all. Anyway, the message of the talk is that we are exceedingly safe when it comes to chemicals regulated by the government. Well, that wasn’t the real message, but that’s the message that is important to you.

After the little speechy thing we left and gave our badges back and got our lost intern and he took us out for pizza. We went to the cool restaurant with weird pizzas and I got a Bangkok Chicken (had peanut sauce, excellent) pizza.

After that we went back to the lab but it was already like 2 o’clock so instead of doing real work he told me to go set up his new GPS. That was cool… I had to sit outside and put in the batteries and turn it on and push enter a lot and then calibrate the compass. Good times.

Dr. Felsot and I fiddled with a calibrated wheel measuring device that was totally crappy, and was made more crappy by our fiddlings. I think we broke it slightly. It wasn’t really our fault though, bad manufacturing.

Good relaxed day at the lab though. Mother and Martha’s friend (I guess she’s sorta mom’s friend now too) and I went and saw Pirates II. Man, that movie was about as good as the first one, which is to say, whatever. I really don’t understand what the big fuss is about, seems fairly average to me. I’m going to guess it’s all the girls doing what with the JD and OB. Oh what dreamboat! I’m sure plenty of guys enjoy it fine too, which I suppose makes it worthy of being profitable, but biggest opening weekend ever? /shakes head I blame it on the fact that nothing else has come out this summer… except Superman.

Then after returning home and finishing my Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger my family and I were walking in the park as we sometimes do and some weido decided it would be a good idea to drive along the walking path. He/She went around twice, the second time having to wait a long period of time for us to get out of their way. I suspect that they were attempting to determine how long the path is with their odometer. Mother got their license plate just in case. Isn’t she turning into a nosy old lady nicely?

And here is some linkable stuff I’ve seen today. Silly and I dunno yet, haven’t watched it, but it might be cool.

Talk to you later love. /wink /kiss /chain you to a mast to save my ass cause I’m selfish trollop

Yo 8,

Glad to hear Taylor is doing well. Hope she can stick to the healthy plan.

Weather is weird. I hope you can survive. I always feel pretty ok, but I’m special like that. My computer says it’s only 89 degrees, but it feels hotter than that to me. Maybe I should shower or something before my boss’s speech thing tomorrow. I get to go to Battelle to see the speech. Tight security, they need my SSN and birth date and all the stuff, and I need to provide 2 photo ID’s at the door or some smeg, and then they give me a tag with a locator chip in it, and I can’t even open any doors, so… cool huh? I think it’s cool. Weather is a good conversation starter… leads right into top secret research facility security practice.

Although I am quite hot you should probably stop telling your friends I do pilates. I don’t even do that little move I made up that is part of pilates anymore. Did you hear about that guy who is debunking Super Size Me and has eaten nothing but McD’s for a year and is in good physical condition? He says the movie’s message should have been that lack of exercise kills you, no McD. I still think McD’s tastes bad though, so whatever.

I’ve been trying to enjoy my day off but my parents keep making tons of noise trying to fix the kitchen floor up. Mom’s trying to buy me a bike or something though, so that’s cool. If she does I think I’ll bring it to school next year. Then I could go into town more easily and stuff, and I can just store it inside that one part of the house where your friends stored all their used alcohol containers. Anyway, if I do you might consider bringing one of your own so you could tag along with me. 🙂

Been watching Farscape. It’s cool. I e-mailed Ze and asked him where I should go to grad school, but he hasn’t responded. Aaron is still missing, so he really must be dead. I wonder if Pat knows he’s not scooping up his family’s horse’s crap like he’s supposed to, cause he’s dead. I’ll try to remember to mention something about it next time I talk to him.

Anyway, I hope you’re having fun. Sorry you won’t get to hang out with Aaron when you come up, but maybe you can go to his funeral. You could say some nice words I’m sure, you didn’t know him as well as all of us here.

lusm musm and see ya soon.

P.S. No reference to my awesome Buddhism jokes in my last letter? What gives?

P.P.S. Of course I’m still keeping my lists.

Dearest Eight,

Today I worked for 8 hours for no pay. I came home after succeeding at spending no money along the way. Since then I have been fasting. I feel nothing but exhaustion and hunger and contentment. No anger or envy. I believe soon you will discover the Buddhist philosophy and join me in my bliss. Otherwise I’ll just slap some sense into you and force you to wear and orange robe all the time and shave your head. HAWT!

I spilled some of a sample at work today. It was pretty brilliant of me. It’s not unsalvageable apparently, but we’ll probably redo the sample sometime anyway. I got to use the fancy balances and swirly things and centrifuges today. I also got to hit frozen apple pulp with a big mallet. How many people can say that?

I’m pretty sleepy as I write you, ’cause I’ve not gotten that much sleep recently and I’ve actually been doing things when I’m awake. I have the day off tomorrow so I’ll get some extra sleep tonight. I’m going to try to stay awake until some decent hour though. Prolly ride my bike again today. Weee… I need to blast my quads.

Aaron hasn’t posted on the D&D forums in almost two full days. I think he might be dead. Let me know if any of your witch friends contact him in the nether world.
