Dear 8,

I missed your correspondence today, but I’m sure it is just lost in the mail.

There is some somewhat interesting news to report today. At work I accompanied my boss man to a lecture he gave at Batelle. We had to do the whole security check thing, and one intern (the one I don’t work with) didn’t get in because she had no photo ID. With our fancy badges that self destruct after 24 hours (not kidding, the ink disappears) we went across the street and into a building that a nice man with a gun opened with a magnetic magic chip card thing. Then we went and sat in a room that didn’t even have a projector in it. They had to bring one. Anyway, the boss man talked for an hour about Differentiating Hazard and Risk and Waste Management and it was pretty well received I think. Couple questions afterwards, some jokes, lot of people talked to him afterward, lot percentage wise. There were only like 15 or so people there. I think that’s about the expected turn out though. Just the Waste Disposal department cared at all. Anyway, the message of the talk is that we are exceedingly safe when it comes to chemicals regulated by the government. Well, that wasn’t the real message, but that’s the message that is important to you.

After the little speechy thing we left and gave our badges back and got our lost intern and he took us out for pizza. We went to the cool restaurant with weird pizzas and I got a Bangkok Chicken (had peanut sauce, excellent) pizza.

After that we went back to the lab but it was already like 2 o’clock so instead of doing real work he told me to go set up his new GPS. That was cool… I had to sit outside and put in the batteries and turn it on and push enter a lot and then calibrate the compass. Good times.

Dr. Felsot and I fiddled with a calibrated wheel measuring device that was totally crappy, and was made more crappy by our fiddlings. I think we broke it slightly. It wasn’t really our fault though, bad manufacturing.

Good relaxed day at the lab though. Mother and Martha’s friend (I guess she’s sorta mom’s friend now too) and I went and saw Pirates II. Man, that movie was about as good as the first one, which is to say, whatever. I really don’t understand what the big fuss is about, seems fairly average to me. I’m going to guess it’s all the girls doing what with the JD and OB. Oh what dreamboat! I’m sure plenty of guys enjoy it fine too, which I suppose makes it worthy of being profitable, but biggest opening weekend ever? /shakes head I blame it on the fact that nothing else has come out this summer… except Superman.

Then after returning home and finishing my Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger my family and I were walking in the park as we sometimes do and some weido decided it would be a good idea to drive along the walking path. He/She went around twice, the second time having to wait a long period of time for us to get out of their way. I suspect that they were attempting to determine how long the path is with their odometer. Mother got their license plate just in case. Isn’t she turning into a nosy old lady nicely?

And here is some linkable stuff I’ve seen today. Silly and I dunno yet, haven’t watched it, but it might be cool.

Talk to you later love. /wink /kiss /chain you to a mast to save my ass cause I’m selfish trollop
