today which was really yesterday

We fixed the GC we need. We replaced the column and found a big acclusion in the old one. Sux0r. Now the machine is working extra good last I heard though. After we fixed that we learned how to do apple samples. The first part anyway. I get to operate the big blender and go into the walk in freezer to get the apples. I have the best job I think. More of the same I think tomorrow, and probably some continuation of the extraction process. We’ll probably use some chemicals and such. 😛

I went riding, as in bikes, w/ Donny today. We went around Canyon Lakes, which is apparently about 5 miles. It was pretty good. My legs were kinda tired doing it. I haven’t really let them rest much since that 25 mile day. It’s cool though. Good to work out some muscles other than my push up ones.

No time for more blogging. Way behind in internet land due to 4 days of absense and my mother stealing my computer so frequently.

Lab and stuff

Today in the lab we tried to fix broken gas chromatographs. We sorta failed. We sorta succeeded. What ya gonna do?

Free game when you buy a Wii… not known what though. I bet it’s a game that’s basically a bunch of mini games that highlights the Wii remote capabilities.

Costco ice cream is good.

Check out the cool weather. oooahhh.

Mom says I have to go clean stuff up.

Do I smell like smoke?

We had mad campfires so I should. Pat decided we had to burn every scrap of wood we had the last night, so we made a bit of a bon fire. Roasted my marshmallows about 1.5 feet from the fire. 😛

Trip was fun. Good food, specially for camping. We rode 21 miles on our first biking excursion. I rode Pat’s mom’s bike because she didn’t go, and that way I’d have a light. It’s a good thing I did have the light too cause it was plenty dark in the 2.5 mile long tunnel we went through. It was a sweet tunnel I thought. That’s how I got that wound. Ran into the side of the tunnel a little bit. Later that day we did two two mile long excursions, so 25 miles is our record for daily distance. It made us quite sore, mostly our butts I think, but our legs were somewhat tired as well.

The next day we did a 16 mile ride with Pat’s mom with us. I rode my dad’s bike for that one consequentially. This ride was more painful that the previous, on account of it not being the first one, but it had a cool ending with some downhill and pavement. It was a fine ride, especially after we were done. 😛 I think the first one we did had better views, apparently Pat’s mother and father are planning to come back and go on that one though, so I guess it’s ok that she missed out.

So anyway, mountain biking is good. I’d invest in a comfortable seat though.

Also, Holly, Pat’s sister, came up a day late. She couldn’t manage to ride a bike, but she did manage to complain and shriek quite a bit. She also played some truely horrible music at unnecissarily high decibals. On the plus side, since I always try to find the plus side, she provided extra space for the return trip, so we weren’t crammed as bad as we were going up, and she provided occasional entertainment. Her being around really gives my witty come back organ a workout.

stuff

Well, I went to the lab thing today. Read some SOP’s and stuff about MSDS and made sure the PI of FEQL signed my GLP slip. Well… that’s mostly a lie and gibberish, but the point is acronyms. I did read some smeg, but I also poured some liquids from container to container. True science. It was pretty neato.

I bought Subway for lunch. The best part of peppers in the burps afterward.

Pat picked me up from lab and took me to Adam’s boat. I didn’t really have any warning, but Pat remembered by bathing suit so that’s cool. We went skiing, although I didn’t do too much of that. I did get in the water and flail about a bit, but I only got up for a couple of short runs on the slalom. I’ve lost some skill since last summer. I might have had my feet in the wrong order though, that might have been my problem. It was nice and relaxing and stuff though. Don’t try to steal Adam’s boat… you won’t be able to.

Tomorrow Pat and Adam and Pat’s mom and I are going to go camping somewhere. That’s the plan anyway. Adam is scheduled to work until like 4, but they’re not paying him anyway so we think he can just leave at 2 if he wants. Pat’s mom wants to leave around 2. Me, I’m not getting paid either, so I can leave whenever. The plan is they’ll come and take me away to camping straight from the lab. We’re going to kayak and bike and stuff for some days, so I’ll not be blogging or running my D&D. This will be tragic, but I think I should get some exercise when it’s fun and free.

If I miss blog voting… it’s all Matt’s fault, and 8 can vote for me provided Matt doesn’t veto. 8 won’t pick what I would pick… but I dun want my votes to go to waste. 🙂

Oh yeah, and good news for PS3. The Xbox 360 now effectly has only a 3 month warrenty despite Microsoft admitting it has faulty parts. check check

I dun sleep

8’s out -camping- with her grandparents so that’s why she’s not updated in a while, if you were nervous. She’ll be back sometime tomorrow, or so I’m told. I used my sarcasm symbol because she has her computer with her and has been playing Hero’s 5, and she’s been calling me on her cell phone, so she’s not roughing it that much. Apparently the bugs are pretty ferocious though.

As for me, I gave blood yesterday. They gave me a Klondike bar and a t-shirt. You shoulda given blood. Still should.

I also got a little internship thing. Very informal. Basically I help out around the lab for free, but I get to say I worked in a lab. Actually it’s a pretty sweet deal, so I’ll probably try to put as much time into as the guy with the lab can handle. If he runs out of things for me to do I’ll stop going in so much, but otherwise I need as much experience as I can get. This does mean I’ll not have nearly as much lounging to do this summer, but on the up side I’ll learn something occasionally and might get into a better grad school. Of course, I’ll have to find time to determine which grad school that is, and apply, but I’ll manage somehow I guess.

The details of the thing haven’t really been worked out yet, but I’m sure I’ll keep you informed, since I’m cool like that. I start tomorrow probably.

Matt is being all absent and such, so the blog competition thing hasn’t taken place. You’ll just have to wait a little longer for my list of awards. Sorry.

I guess some sort of update is in order

It’s been a bit. Nothing much has happened though. I should mention now that I’m thinking of it though that I got 4.5 million points in Rumble Box, way back when that day I swam at Pat’s.

Yesterday Pat, Adam, and Brittany showed up and took me away to play SceneIt the Harry Potter edition. They didn’t tell me what we were doing ahead of time cause they knew I’d be pretty reticent, but I guess they desperately needed a 4th player. It’s cool… I was bored anyway. I got asked who wrote the books that the movies are based on. I got that one right. That was pretty much it. I am bad at that game comparably to Brittany and Adam. Those two are lame nerdo losers though. I beat Pat though.

Pat and Aaron and Aaron’s band… that’s Trent and Cain are playing in some battle of the bands tonight. I might go to that… but it costs $5 and I dun really like music scene stuff. But whatever.

I’m semi close to beating Wild Arms 1 I think. I have the final dungeon to do, and I think it’s a pretty extensive dungeon thing. I’m going to do some random exploring of stuff before I do that too, since I’m sure there are some cool monsters and such I haven’t fought.

My online D&D thing still going pretty well. Except Zach hasn’t posted in a couple days… but that’s only slowing down Keston… so who cares? The game is humorously role play oriented and slow… I enjoy it. A few of my players enjoy it too, which is cool. Hopefully I can up the % of happy players as time goes on. I think Andrew stole my Sharn book, which isn’t even mine, so I have to do work to get that back soon.

You’re probably going to live to be thousands of years old, so start preparing.

Six Returns

And so does Superman. Coincidence?

I saw the midnight showing with some of my hometown friends here. It was good I say. I haven’t quite figured out how good. Pretty good though. Go see it.

Otherwise I’ve been wasting my life totally. Been playing Wild Arms, dinking around, surfing the web, and watching Simpsons. Go me.

Motherload!!!

Those of you who enjoy your Comedy Central over the internet in the form of the Motherload rss feed will know what I’m outraged about already. Everyone else won’t though, so I will explain.

Motherload gives me a large portion of the Daily Show and Colbert Report free to download. They had been doing it commercial free, just a little ad off to the side that I could block with this Firefox extension. Now they play a god damn Pringles commercial before every clip. It’s driving me insane. Write your congressman… and John Stewart!
