Well, Milo may be dead but at least we got him rebooted sufficiently (via removing the battery) for it to actually load up. So as of right now I am posted from Milo! I also think I got pretty much everything import off him and onto my external hard drive. So woot. Currently things are working ok I think, but after this little experience I’m enclined to have them replace every component anyway. 🙂 Going to go to the store.

Well, I let dad fiddle with my computer for several hours and apparently he didn’t get anywhere. Since I got up with instructions to try to save what I could I have only gotten it to actually start up twice, and both times it blue screened of death in under 5 minutes. The second time it blue screened of death really slowly. *shakes head* I can’t even start it in safe mode now I guess. I think it might have done something to my external hard drive too, cause it looked like there was nothing in the folders the time I made it far enough to look at it, but it said that just as much of the disk space was still being used. I’m so confused. I’m pretty sure it has to do with USB drivers… but I dunno why now and why it is having such profound effects on Milo. 🙁 I’m pretty close to just giving up, but I really don’t wanna lose some things, like my pictures and documents. I’ll try to e-mail documents next time to myself I guess… see if that works. That’s pretty much the only stuff I really want. I guess I can take new pictures and re-download everything else. Apparently the plan is to take it in to some computer place when we go back to school, cause there isn’t really anything around here. I guess Portland has some place. LAME!

Now my computer is back to not working. It’s been not working for a while, so don’t think I had all the time in between these posts. I’m really frustrated… I can’t figure out what’s going on in the slightest. I wish it would have broken at the beginning of the break at least. Not 2 days before probably my most difficult semester as an undergraduate. Blah! I dunno what to do. I’ll probably keep fiddling after sleep. I guess I’ll sleep. If I can’t get it to work for a prolonged period of time and I have to send it in and they reformat it or something I’ll lose some. I dunno how much though, or what. I was in the process of saving things onto an external hard drive one time when I had it working pretty well when it stopped midway, and now I can’t get it to recognize the external hard drive, except once, and then it was so short I couldn’t get a good look around. I know I don’t have everything I want, and that’s bad enough. *sigh* Well, not much I can do about it now I suppose, I should just sleep and work on it later. It’s weird, keeps acting like there’s always something plugged in the USB ports, something bad with the USB ports. Sometimes it installs a USB Controller. When I start up the touch pad doesn’t work, and plugging in mouses hasn’t worked, but I can use the keyboard. If I fiddle with it, usually by trying to make it detect new hardware, it’ll switch, so the touch pad works, but the keyboard doesn’t. Eventually though something else happens that makes it so neither works, and when that happens it’s really hard to do anything. I can’t get it to restart normally either. I have to turn it off manually. And occasionally random other bad things happen. Once it asked me for a password through the LCD on the front, and I don’t have a password for that, so I just restarted to get around it. I’ve gotten blue screens of death a couple of times. I’ve had an incorrect BIOS sum or something like that when restarting, I had to hit F1 for some reason. Gah! Maybe when I talk to a service guy I can just refer him to my blog. 🙂
Ok, getting away from the topic of my infuriating computer, I watched those movies I mentioned. Neither of them were very good or bad. My apathy remains intact. I ate some Lucky Charms… they seem to have more marshmallows than I remember.
Yesterday was my record low as far as steps go. I’m questioning the accuracy of my pedometer, because I think the dropping it has gotten to it, though. It seemed to be working when I checked it though, and I didn’t do much moving yesterday it’s true.
You all didn’t cross your fingers.
As of now my computer seems to be working like it should be. I didn’t really do anything to fix it though so I’m skeptical. Watched Run Away Jury and am currently watching Mystic River. Keep your finger’s crossed for Milo. CROSS THEM!
Well, Kait’s sick, Dimitri apparently has a headache, and my laptop is on the fritz. Things w/ Milo have been crazy, so I’m currently scanning for virus and such. The keyboard is broken so I’m typing on the old home desktop. 😛 I hope I can manage to fix Milo quick, of course. I like him a lot. I hope 8 and Dim feel better too. Let’s see… besides that there’s not much to saym except that Donny left his watch here… so he might want to get that sometime. 😛
Nintendo To Bring Revolution to E3 – MegaGames console
I hope Nintendo pulls something good off. I am a Nintendo fan at heart, they just haven’t been trying to appeal to my demographic for a while.
Trillian 3.0 is available. I still have problems file transfering and webcamming over it, but it has some cool features like tabbed chat windows and less annoying sounds.
Donny is over watching that Evangelion stuff. 8’s not feeling well. 🙁
Busy day today, relatively. Went to Donny’s for dinner, and then Aarong showed up, and then we went to Hastings to rent the Grudge for some reason but it wasn’t there so Donny bought the entire series of Evangelion and we watched about half of it. I didn’t really pay attention most of the time. I got to chat with 8 quite a bit, and that was good. She did a bunch of work on the blog as you can see. That was pretty much it. I’m sleepy.
Aftenposten Norway, Norwegian news in English
Reminds me of that book Kait said I should read. What was the name… I can’t think of it. The one with the android and the murder mystery. *shrug*
(edit: Gene is strangely elusive in letting us know what the hell he is referring to… Brain and I decided that he was actually talking about the I, Robot movie. 😛 <3 K) (edit again: I’m not elusive, you just aren’t understanding. I’m giving like every detail I remember. The guys a cop, his boss wears glasses even though it’s old school and is a secret member of a movement that want’s to go back to the old ways, along with the main character’s wife. The main character gets put on a case, with the help of an android from the colonie in the city set up by humans that have colonized other planets. On the other planets though, things are perfect, and so they won’t colonize more, and they have advanced technology and stuff, that isn’t on earth. And they come back to tell the Earlthings to colonize again, or else they’re going to kill themselves cause they can’t support so many people. Everyone lives in cities that are domed, and all food comes from yeast pretty much. Everything is very ordered by the governments, like where and what you eat, where you live, etc. One of the main things Kait liked about it when she recommended it was that one of the modes of transport is the sidewalks move, and they go faster if you step over one, like 5 mph. So you can move back and forth to decide how fast you want to go, and they get in a chase scene on it, skipping from platform to platform and such. It was written a while ago, so the idea of what’s futuristic is sorta outdated. Yeah, that is all. (edit again +1: are you sure it was ME who read this book? Brain: that is like.. the only things that are coming to mind is a vague mixture of the I, Robot movie, 1984, omnivore, and asimov’s(?) (i think he wrote this one) Nemesis.. and im done. and back to me… “i know i can.. i know i can.. i’m fine with my own hand..”
