other days

Didn’t ski on Thursday or Friday.  Thursday the wind was very bad and only a couple lifts were open.  Friday was pretty much the same, but we went up anyway to check it out.  They told us they were definitely only gonna have a couple lifts open and nothing else would open up.  When we went home and checked they had opened the main lift, though.  So perhaps we shoulda stayed.  I think we made the correct decision with the data presented, though.

Besides, because we didn’t go skiing that day, Pat and I went with Mrs. Anthony to do some cross country skiing by the river.  I went with my normal skies.  It was an ice sheet and not very fun for anyone, although I got a bit of a thrill from using downhill skis to cross country ski on an ice sheet.  Plus, it was good cardio.

We also saw The Spirit.  Not sure normal people would like it very much.  I thought it was pretty good.  It’s like hyper-noir or something.  Not easy to explain.  Definitely some highly enjoyable characters and lines and stuff.  /shrug

Besides that there was lots of hot tubing and eating and WoWing.  Hot tubs are good.  Food is good.  WoW is good.

We weren’t really planning on skiing on the day we drove home, but we changed those plans and went up early.  Everything was open and everyone was there.  The lines were pretty annoying, but the conditions were excellent.  The end of the day I was on my own and went over to the back chairs, which they opened at mid-day and which had been closed for several days.  It was great fun.  Top had like a foot of smooth powder, and at the bottom are these crazy cat tracks that I barreled down so fast I got air on some of the little hills.  Went off some jumps, went through the trees, went outside the ski park boundaries.  It was glorious.

Beginning of the day I ran over Hannah.  Other than that it was pretty fun.

Definitely was a good trip.

Oh, and my arms got better.  Eventually.

Exciting news

Pat’s cousin discovered that the grammer category in freerice.com only has two choices, thus doubling my productivity.

day 2

Got up on the slopes today.  It was great weather and snow conditions.  I ditched everyone a lot of the day and did my own thing.  Pat and I lost Hannah for a while, we didn’t think it was possible on the run we were doing, but we did.  There were quite a few people, but it’s all right.  I was fine all day until the 3rd to last run I went down something called Outback which was just grueling.  Fun enough, but I got all hot and sweaty and my legs hurt.  I powered through though and got a couple more runs in before the day was done.

Tomorrow there will be more skiing.  Maybe double more, cause of night skiing on account of the new year.  We’ll see.  Happy New Year peoples, btw.  Maybe I’ll wait 24 minutes to post this so it will be timely.

That excursion to the gym I mentioned yesterday has left my biceps in quite a bind.  I slept on them funny, too, I suspect.  Anyway, the combination of events means when I try to straighten my arms the furthest I can get leaves about a 25° angle.  It’s quite painful.  I’m going to try to sleep in such a way as to undo it tonight.  Probably won’t affect my skiing much, but at this point it actually could.  Poles and all.

Oh, and after the skiing and the dinner eating I went into the hot tub.  It was nice.  Obviously didn’t really help with the muscle problems, but I wasn’t really expecting it to.  Pretty nice.  Maybe when I grow up I’ll have one.

Vacation

I got to go on this big vacation thing with Pat.  So, I’m in the woods outside of Bend in this, like, very fancy log cabin thing.  Ya know, where millionaire’s go when they think they’re camping.  We tried to go skiing today but there was like a blizzard knocking out the power so they closed the place.  So, we didn’t really do anything today except eat, and hang out, and go to gym.

Anyway, my digs are better than yours.  I’ll keep ya posted.

The tick tock of the clock is painful

Lauren and Sidney have both managed to post about the nothing they’re doing, so I guess I can, too.

Aaron and Kim visited yesterday, which is close to something.  Kim fell asleep pretty much immediately, but we watched Back to the Future II anyway.  That’s a pretty messed up movie.  I don’t think I’m really a fan of the series.

For the rest of my time I’ve mostly been trying to catch up on all the media I have gotten behind on.  Pretty much all caught up on Southpark, watched all of Sanctuary (they changed things from the web version), and caught up on Heroes today.  Heroes is silly.  The fast chick can go back in time because she can move so fast when super charged by Ando, sure, makes total sense, but how does she go forward in time?  /shakes head  Whatever.

I’ve still got tons of podcasts to listen to and watch, and I have some shows downloaded already that I haven’t even started… so I guess I’m going to give the whole downloading thing a rest for a while.  Feels wrong.

Pat’s not been online today.  He was supposedly going to wake up at 4 am and take off, barring some change in the weather.  I stayed up until like 5:30 and he was still idle, so I dunno when he actually did leave, but theoretically he’s getting closer and will be chilling before too long.

Besides all that my family, and pieces of it, have been playing that dice game, Farkle, some more.  I’ve actually won twice, I think, now.  Martha’s officially the unluckiest.

Martha made some cookies.  I get to eat the deformed ones.  And open the stuck bottle tops.

Other than that I’ve been doing a fair bit of chatting.  Chat chat.

Where have all the road warriors gone?

Donny, Sidney, and Pat are all being kept away by the weather.  Boo to you and to them.

Also, if you have been not texting me because you’re worried about the charges to me, you can stop worrying for now.

It snowed

So I went outside with nothing but my shorts on and flexed and roared and looked primal.  Nobody was around to take pictures, though.

I’m pretty alone in Anderson tonight.  The girls fled for fear of weather.  They all made it home fine, except Megan who apparently had an incident.  I think those things have to be self fulfilling or something.  She’s fine though, just slid around a bit or something.

The main Asians are still here.  They made me dinner and I made them dessert.  They’re all leaving early tomorrow to go on a grand vacation adventure.

Mom’s coming to get me tomorrow and take me home.  Just Aaron and Kim for the first few days, but Pat’s coming back, and Donny, and Sidney may even visit.  Should be fun times.

Donny was up visiting but he ran away, too.  He’s got this cool work setup where he has to drive back to Portland every weekend.  Neato, huh?

I got an A in 480, that’s the capstone class.  I got A-‘s in Boris’s classes, which is good, considering.  I somehow only got a B in Physics, even though it was probably the easiest class.  I think most of the blame falls on having a final at 8 am.  I don’t do well at 8 am.  It’s ok, though, was taking it just for fun and all.  Grades were up really fast this quarter.

I should sleep so I can wake up when or before mom get’s here.  Sidney actually updated her blog.  There are videos featuring my voice from when we went to Lauren’s house last weekend.  That’s all for now.
